Presentation at SEM

I presented a paper titled “Russo-Japanese Musical Exchange & Diasporic Politics in Manchukuo” on the panel Beyond Russianness: Diasporic Music and Intercultural Connections at the joint Annual Meeting of the Society for Ethnomusicology, the American Musicological Society, and the Society for Music Theory. The paper traces the development of Russo-Japanese musical networks in Manchukuo from the Mukden Incident to the Second World War.
